Sweet And Healthy Honey Snacks For Kids

As kids grow from little tots to happy, little children, they become more and more picky about the foods they eat. Chances are they will eat only their favorite foods. Kids in particular have a big tummy for sweet treats such as chocolate and candies. But too much sweets and sugar is not good for growing kids. Actually, it is not really good for anyone of any age.

When kids start to ask for sweets, it is very difficult to say no to them. They will be insistent and if you do not give them what they want, they will probably throw a tantrum so you will end up giving them sweets anyway, and will regret it soon after. Do not worry though. Honey is sweet and honey is healthy. You can use them on your kid’s snacks anytime. Listed below are some sweet and healthy honey snacks for kids.

Banana Cereal Pops
Banana cereal pops is a great snack for your kids. It is easy to do and you can even make it with your child. You will need:

  • 2 bananas
  • 1/4 cup of honey
  • 1/2 cup of cereals
  • 4 popsicle sticks

Just peel the bananas and cut them in half. Insert the popsicle sticks in the bananas and dip the bananas in honey. Roll the bananas on your kid’s favorite cereal until they are fully coated.

Honey Fruitsicles
Fruitsicles are basically popsicles that are made out of fresh fruit and honey. You will need:

  • 1/2 cup of fresh fruit bits
  • 1/2 cup of milk
  • 1/4 cup of honey
  • some water
  • popsicle sticks

Just mix everything in a blender and pour into molds. Place popsicle sticks in the mixture and store in the freezer for about 3 hours. Serve cold and icy.

Honey S’mores
This snack is easy and fun to make so prepare it with your kid! You will need:

  • 6 2×2-inch graham crackers
  • 1 tablespoon of peanut butter
  • 1 tablespoon of honey
  • 3 marshmallows

First, mix peanut butter and honey and spread it on top of 3 graham crackers. Get a barbecue stick and insert the marshmallow on its tip. Lightly roast the marshmallow until it gets a little gooey. Do this with all the marshmallows and place on the peanut butter-honey coated graham crackers. Place the remaining 3 graham crackers on top of each to make a sandwich.

Honey and Yogurt Shake
Kids also like refreshing drinks. This beverage is perfect for a warm afternoon. You will need:

  • 1 cup of fresh milk
  • 1/2 cup of vanilla yogurt
  • 1/2 cup of sliced fruits (apple, banana, strawberries or whatever fruit your kids like)
  • 1 cup of crushed ice
  • 4 tablespoons of honey

Combine everything in a mixer and blend them until all the ingredients have combined and the mixture turns thick, smooth and creamy. Pour in two glasses and serve right away.

Peanut Butter, Honey and Strawberry Roll-up
This snack can provide your kid with energy and healthy body. You will need:

  • 1 slice of multi-grain bread
  • 1 tablespoon of honey
  • 1 tablespoon of peanut butter
  • some diced strawberries

Simply spread honey and peanut butter on the bread and along the left edge. Place the strawberries on the right side of the bread then roll it up.
